Resveratrol supplements are special, why? It's what they are made of.Resveratrol is from a group of plant extracts called polyphenols. This one, found in red wine, red and purple grape juice, maybe the key to heart healthy living, but getting enough just by drinking red wine means that you would have to drink somewhere between a hundred to thousand bottles of red wine a day. Wouldn't it just be easier to take a resveratrol supplement? Resveratrol, if it were more widely known, may offer a great deal of hope for a healthier life for which we all look. Although it isn't the "fountain of youth", according to National Institute of Health on Aging, studies are promising. The studies are showing that Resveratrol supplements can help with weight, cholesterol, heart health and other health issues that were previously thought to be impossible to treat due to Americans love of fatty foods. The French may have known this for centuries. Think about it. The French, with their notorious love of heavy cream and butter rich sauces have been drinking rich red wines with meals for eons. Perhaps this red wine is the keynote to keeping them healthy, with a low incidence of heart problems. Scientists call this the French Paradox. It is a supplement created from one of several types of botanical sources that are rich in polyphenols, flavinoids and antioxidants (all of which support the immune system). Red grape skins and red wine, Japanese and Korean knotweed rank highly on this list. It is suggested that eating and drinking red and purple grape juice, eating berries such as blueberries and cranberries, eating peanuts and other foods that are high in resveratrol maybe enough, it still isn't known how much of this helpful antioxidant you are getting into your system. In several Sixty Minutes articles, released between 2006 and 2009, Resveratrol has been the subject of some special attention. Very little of it was negative. In fact, the reviews, though cautious, have been good. Research is still being done, however, on how much resveratrol supplements you need to achieve the optimal effects. Places like the NIH (National Institute of Health on Aging), says that between fifty (50) milligrams and a hundred (100) milligrams a day is sufficient for optimum benefits of this supplement. Nowadays it's finding a company that can provide you with a quality supplement. The best form of the Resveratrol supplement is one that has an enteric coating, and is combined with other minerals and vitamins that support it's mission in keeping you healthy, like green tea extract. As with all supplements, you do have to be careful and tell you doctor about what you are taking. Resveratrol can interfere with blood thinners, so if you on them, then you need to be even more closely monitored or not take Resveratrol at all. But the truth is this supplement may just become a fantastic antioxidant health booster that we are all looking for. It's just a matter of time before we all know about it!
